Quantitative Survey Results

I carried out a survey with some members of my target audience (both male and female aged 16-19) to gather quantitative data on what my readers would like to see on my magazine and how much they would be willing to pay.

This has told me that the majority of my target audience would pay between £1.00-£2.00 for a music magazine therefore my cover price will be within this range of values.

These responses have told me that most people would like to see either a blue and white, or a red and white colour scheme therefore I have narrowed my ideas down to these too for when I create my own magazine.

This has shown me that within my target age group, there is a wide variety of preferences of music genres, therefore has secured my idea of using a hybrid genre so my magazine will appeal to a a broader readership.

Although many people would like to see a male cover star, majority chose female therefore I will use a female on my front cover, and few said they would like to see a group of people so I won't use this.

As many people have said they would like to see interviews featured in a magazine, I will definitely try to include this as my main double page spread article, and reviews, gossip and tour information are also popular choices within this age group. Although not many people chose competitions, I will still include this in my magazine as it is a strong selling point and is very common within existing music magazines.
