This is my first draft of my final product design which my teacher will mark for me to make my final changes to. Following feedback from my class mates I have enlarged my sell lines to ensure there is not too much blank space on the page, and another further improvement I have made is to bring the 'competition time' banner forward rather than having it hidden behind the masthead, to draw more attention to it and I have also specified more what the competition itself is, with the intent of encouraging people to buy the magazine as this will be a USP of my magazine. My target audience of young people in the audience demographic groups C2, D and E will be particularly interested in something which is free, especially as it is for concerts which fans of music magazines will have an interest in.
I am very pleased overall with this design, as I think it is simplistic and professional looking by sticking largely to a basic colour palette of blues and whites, but the addition of some red to integrate the makeup of the model with the text makes it more eye catching and aesthetically pleasing. All of the necessary conventions are there including an unobtrusive issue number and bar code, and the banner at the bottom is a major enticer for one off buyers by listing included artists which will appeal to their fans.
